"I am super super super impressed with this bed. We actually just bought big barker beds at Christmas and I wish I had found these before that because the big barker bed was so much more expensive and I feel like they are an eyesore in my living room. These look incredible! I love the look of them, I love it has a full bolster and there are so many cool things that this company thought about, including the handle to carrying it around and moving it place to place. The cover itself is not waterproof but it's washable and super easy to undo. The foam and all of the bolsters are covered completely in waterproof fabric, which is incredible. Gonna be super easy to clean especially if you have a puppy or senior dog. Love love love it."

"I *love* the towel cover for protecting my dog's bed when he's wet or muddy and waiting for a bath. It's super soft and very well made - much thicker than I was expecting. I also love how it looks in my home - very simple and neat. Definitely recommend if you're someone like me who hates taking the covers off beds to wash - this is a LOT easier to take on/off for cleaning!!"

This is a review of the Blue Water Dog bed, size L, with boucle cover in "Sand".
I bought it to replace a simpler, much less expensive, canvas-covered Carhartt dog bed. That bed was still in good shape after 4 years, but my 80 lb. dog (now 8 years old) had developed a sore on her elbow that I thought would benefit from better cushioning and a softer cover. This new bed does provide much better support from the thick, solid foam inserts. There are two separate cushion inserts, one for the bottom and one forming the bolsters. Each is covered in its own zippered liner. The bottom cushion and top cushion go into separate zippered compartments. So, there is no way for these cushions to shift. This is a big advantage over the cushions in many other beds, which typically are stuffed with loose fillings, with no baffles, so they can shift, bunch, and flatten out. One downside: if you take it apart to wash, re-assembly is a bit trickier than a flat bed with a single insert.
I chose the color called "sand", which to my eyes is more like a gray gravel color. The boucle fabric is attractive and doesn't seem to be as much of a hair magnet as another bed we have. The top forms a single piece with no crevices for dust to collect.
Shipping was fast. However, within a few days after delivery, I noticed a split on the top for about an inch or two along a seam. I don't know if this developed before or after delivery. Blue Water promptly shipped a replacement cover (at no cost) along with a free removable outer "towel" cover for my trouble. These sell for $67 on their site. They said they'd never encountered this problem before. I'm deducting one star for the problem (not more, because of the good response).
By the way, that removable towel cover adds a soft layer that is easy to remove for washing. It fits well. I would have balked at the full retail price but am glad to have it as a freebie.
